AF Corse / DLC One drivers enter the GT World Challenge Europe Gold Cup
AF Corse enters the new Gold Cup class of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup. The AF Corse DLC One team consists of drivers Alessandro Balzan, Hugo Delacour and Cedric Sbirrazzuoli.
Balzan, known as the two-time IMSA GTD champion, and Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, a former WeatherTech championship driver, will team up with bronze-rated driver Hugo Delacour for the five long-distance races, including the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.
Indeed, Sbirrazzuoli and Delacour will be joining forces in the Sprint Cup series as Pro-Am teammates. Last year, both men competed in single events in the Italian GT and the International GT Open.
Balzan is ready for his first season in GT since the 2020 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, which he contested with Scuderia Corsa. Sbirrazzuoli, meanwhile, competed in a handful of GT3 races last year and last competed full-time in the 2019 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship. Finally, former Ferrari Challenge Europe driver Delacour will move to GT3 racing full-time after his exploratory outings with Sbirrazzuoli in 2021.
This season, the #21 2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo will race under the banner of Team DLC One AF Corse.AF Corse has signed two Ferraris for the full GTWC Europe season, covering both Endurance and Sprint Cups.
